Brad J. Noyes, age 44, of Porter, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Canby.

Burial will be at Wergeland Cemetery, rural Porter, Minnesota.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21 with a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service at the Porter Community Hall, Porter, Minnesota.

Brad Joseph Noyes was born on December 18, 1973 to John and Julie (Differding) Noyes in Marshall.

He was baptized and confirmed at Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Taunton.

Brad was raised on the family farm north of Porter and naturally grew to love everything about farming while working with neighboring farmers.

After Brad graduated from Canby High School, he immediately took up farming on his own.

Throughout the years, his passion for farming grew even stronger while working alongside his grandfathers, father, Uncle Jerry, Uncle Greg, Bryce and Taylor.

There would not be a day that he didn’t think or talk about his career as a farmer. Just as his farm continued to grow, he himself grew into an excellent, and dedicated caretaker until his final days.

He was a true farmer. Brad was also a passionate, but friendly competitor. He was a successful Canby Lancer wrestler, loved to play softball, toss bean bags with friends and relatives, and spend hours playing cards.

You always found him enjoying time with nieces and nephews, and playing games with his children.

Brad was especially drawn to children because he was really just a big kid at heart. He usually was the one making faces and participating in crazy antics to entertain those around him.

When he wasn’t the main entertainment, Brad enjoyed traveling, reading, making salsa, golfing and learning new things.

During one of those community softball tournaments, Brad met his bride-to-be, Anna Koenig. They fell deeply in love and were united in marriage on July 11, 2009, at a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Buffalo Ridge in Gary, SD.

Their marriage was the perfect union built on friendship, respect and love.

They were inseparable. Brad was a kind, patient, loving husband and father, and extremely proud of his children. His life was complete, living on the farm with the family he dearly loved.

When someone describes Brad, they always begin with his smile...followed immediately with mention of his infectious laugh.

After those two very apparent traits, any descriptions of Brad quickly turn to his character. All the best words apply to him. Brad was an outstanding, amazing man.

He was generous, kind-hearted, positive, humble, funny, strong, genuinely unselfish, honest and a phenomenal father, uncle and friend.

He loved his community and was proud of his Porter roots. Throughout his courageous battle, he frequently managed to flash that infamous smile and always maintained his positive attitude.

Even though the Lord called him to heaven on August 16, 2018 as he was surrounded by family and friends at home, that smile and positivity will never fade from the hearts of those that love him.

Grateful for having shared Brad’s life are his wife, Anna; his children: Tylar, Haley, Hayden and Hadley; parents: John and Julie Noyes; siblings: Kari (Krist) Wollum and Kyle (Abbie) Noyes; mother/father-in-law: Beth and Dennis Koenig; brothers-in-law: Justin (Danielle) Koenig and Jon (Meghan) Koenig; grandparents: Eileen Differding and Eldeen Baer; nieces and nephews: Alicia, Joseph and Karlie Wollum; Theodore and Kellen Noyes; Mati Short and Cooper, Blakely, Emma, Kinsley and Whitley Koenig; and Brynlee Koenig; and, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
