Betty Lou Prellwitz
The funeral service for Betty Lou Prellwitz, 82, of Minneota, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. Visitation will be Monday, April 12, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Minneota. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Betty Lou (Leese) Prellwitz was born on March 19, 1939, in Marshall, to Otto and Alice (Ramberg) Leese. She grew up in Minneota and graduated from Minneota High School in 1957. On August 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert Arthur Prellwitz. The couple raised their family in Minneota. At age 50, Betty returned to school and earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Work from Southwest Minnesota State University. She worked for Pathways in Granite Falls for several years.
Betty liked to dance in her younger years. She also enjoyed horses and belonged to the Silver Spurs Saddle Club. She also belonged to 4-H, enjoyed vegetable gardening and will be remembered for her generosity and kind heart. She was a very active member of Hope Lutheran Church including service on Church Council, as a Confirmation Teacher and Choir Member. Betty was most passionate about her family. Betty died on Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Sanford Canby Medical Center in Canby.
She is survived by her son Marty (and Heidi) Prellwitz of Poolville, TX, their children Jeremy Lee (and Tricia) Prellwitz, Gavin Prellwitz and Jillian Prellwitz; son Owen (and Denise) Prellwitz of Marshall, their son Jordan (and Deena) Prellwitz; daughter-in-law Brenda Prellwitz of Minneota, her children Nicole (and Jared) Longtin and Brandon Prellwitz; great-grandchildren Payton, Amberly, Eli, Laney and Lyla; sisters Janie Leese Boyes of Las Vegas and Brenda Joy Leese of Minneota, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Arthur Prellwitz, son Robert Prellwitz Jr., one grandbaby in infancy and one brother in infancy.
