Anthony ‘Tony’ Laleman

Tony Laleman, 33, of Ivanhoe, died on Monday, June 4, 2018 near Ivanhoe, as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 11 at the St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 at the St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and prayer service at 7 p.m.

Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at the St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery.

Anthony Jules Laleman was born on a Monday, August 13, 1984 in Tyler, to parents John and Susan (Petersen) Laleman.

The family lived in Minneota until Tony was 7 years old and then they moved to a family farm North of Ivanhoe where the family still resides.

Tony was baptized at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota, and then received First Communion and was confirmed at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno.

He graduated from Lincoln HI High School in 2004 and then went to Minnesota West in Granite Falls for auto body.

For many years, Tony worked for Duane Schalek as a farm hand. He also worked for CHS elevator in Jasper, drove truck, worked for Bill Sterzinger, along with several other places in between and worked many different side jobs whenever anyone needed a hand.

He had a very strong work ethic and never said NO to anybody needing help.

He was currently employed by Citterman Farms for the past year. There wasn’t much that he wouldn’t do or hasn’t tried especially if it was outside. 

Tony loved all of God’s creatures and had a special passion for helping and caring for animals.

Visiting and making new friends was very easy for Tony as he befriended young and old alike.

Helping and spending time with his grandparents was very important to him. Tony was very resourceful and handy.

He could build anything with what others tossed out.

Tony’s everything came along on August 7, 2008, the day his daughter Averyl was born.

His love was being with his daughter whenever possible, seeing family and friends, fishing and treasure hunting.

Tony was member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church.

He was a proud father, uncle, loving son and brother whose contagious smile and laughter will never be forgotten.

Tony was a bright light for all who knew him.

Grateful for having shared Tony’s life is his daughter, Averyl Cline; his parents, John and Susan Laleman of Ivanhoe; his siblings Jessica (Joe) Wilson and their children Carter, Dylan, Tyson, Layla and Abigail Wilson of Canby, Alex (Bee) and soon to arrive, baby Lakita Laleman of Ivanhoe and Adrian Laleman of Ivanhoe; grandparents Irene Petersen of Russell and Etien and Marian Laleman of Minneota; aunts and uncles Joe (Judy) Petersen of Minneota, John Petersen of Ghent, Julie Schumacher of Sleepy Eye, Jackie Laleman of Minneota, Jeanne (Loren) Ludewig of Sleepy Eye, Jamie Laleman of Marshall, Jody Laleman of Ponca, NV and Jason (Jessica) Laleman of Minneota and numerous cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Alvin Petersen; uncle, Jerry Laleman; an infant aunt, Joyce Laleman; and niece, baby Grace Wilson.
