Ambrose Girard Jr.

Service for Ambrose N. Girard Jr., 90, of Minneota will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday October 23 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Minneota and continue on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11:30 - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.
Ambrose was born on September 20, 1931 in Marshall, MN to Ambrose and Marie Girard. He attended Marshall School and was baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Alaska. 
In June of 1956 Ambrose was united in marriage to Patricia Ann VanKeulen. The couple farmed near Lynd for a few years. Ambrose then worked delivering feed and fruit locally in the area. He retired from Heartland at the age of 62. 
Ambrose had many hobbies including gardening, playing guitar, and always trying to invent something new. 
Ambrose died on Friday, October 15 in Canby, MN. He is survived by his children Cecelia (Kevin) Streff, Carolyn Girard, Wanda (Steve) St. Aubin, Anita (Kenneth) Shellum; 7 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and many friends and other relatives. 
Ambrose was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; son Randy; and grandson Matthew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Edward School in Minneota.
