Sgt. Adam Connor of Lyon County was given a “Challenge Coin Award”, which recognized his efforts in traffic safety.
He was nominated for his leadership and participation in the July “Border-to-Border” saturations along Highway 14.
The award was presented by Lyon County Sheriff Eric Wallen and Scott McConkey of the state’s Traffic Safety board.
McConkey said Highway 14 was targeted as a main area in which to enforce safety. Sgt. Conner headed up that effort, said McConkey.
After success, Connor suggested they extend the corridor safety program from South Dakota to Wisconsin.
Board Chairman Gary Crowley congratulated Conner, saying, “If we saved just one life, it was well worth it, but I think it saved more than that.”
