Tornado sited

A tornado touched down west of Marshall in southwest Minnesota on Sunday afternoon.

The Sioux Falls office of the National Weather Service said it was located northeast of Arco.

Heavy rain appeared to be the main result of the storm in Lincoln County. In the Arco area and along Minnesota Highway 19, much water was located in farm fields and running through roadside ditches after the storm had passed.

On one slope along Lincoln County Road 7 north of Arco, rainwater could be seen cutting a channel through the edge of a corridor.

Apparently, no severe damage was caused by the tornado, but many areas, including Minneota received heavy rains.
