Stormin’ Minneota
Minneotans have been getting a taste of what all that Ole Man Winter has to offer.
Last week it was heavy, swirling winds amongst cold temperatures that chilled the body to the bone.
Then on Sunday, he threw in a little snow, kept the winds swirling and sent even the hardiest souls looking for shelter.
By Monday, the Minneota crew was out clearing the roads and the area was filled with the “swirling” sound of machines as they cleared the way for people — some who needed groceries at Brad’s Market as the city crew dumped the snow in a truck.
Minneota’s maintenance crew had their machines swirling and their trucks moving the snow to K. P. Kompelien Field on Monday.
The storm hit on Sunday amid heavy winds and cold temperatures.
The winds were obvious even as the crew tried to clean Second Street in downtown Minneota.
Some of the blown snow didn’t make it to the truck bed the first time around.
