School construction project dates released

Construction plans for the new elementary school and locker room projects are continuing and last week Joe Henn, who is handling the plans for the Minneota School District listed the projects that are about to begin.

According to Henn:

•The plans were available to bidders on Nov. 16 to coincide with the first Public Notice that appeared in the Mascot. •Second notice for bids will go out between Nov. 20 and Dec. 7.

•Next will be to clarify any coordination issues on the plans and specifications for the budders and material suppliers.

•On Nov. 12, Henn will give potential bidders an overview walkthrough of the project, the important conditions for contractors and a chance to better understand the plans.

•Public Bid Opening is at 2 p.m., Dec. 21.

•The Private bid opening for the Monroe Street Exterior Lighting Project and the new lights in the north Parking Lot will be held.

•The Asbestos Abatement for the locker rooms and tech room, band and choir room will be held Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.

•On March 29, the Locker Room demolition and re-construction begins.

•On April 23, work begins in the Practice Gym.

•The official project start date is May 21. “I presently have no concerns. Everything seems to be flowing nicely,” said Henn.
