Rubber Ducky races are Thursday, May 31

The annual Rubber Duck Races is set to sail at 7 p.m. on May 31 at Countryside Golf Course in Minneota.

Proceeds from the duck race will benefit the Boxelder Bug Days celebration, which will be held Sept. 7-9 this year.

Interested participants can purchase two ducks for $5 to compete in the race.

Countryside Golf is offering a BBQ pulled pork sandwich that includes pickle fries or homemade chips, as well as a duck ticket to enter in the race, for $12 as part of the event.

There will be seven cash prizes given out at the race.

First prize is $200, second place is worth $100, third place receives $50, and fourth through seventh places get $25 apiece.

Tickets for the race can be purchased at Gislason's Hardware/The Arched Door, Highway 68 Liquor, Brad's Market, Minneota Building Materials or Prairie Winds Wellness.

Tickets can also be purchased from any Boxelder Bug Days Committee member.

Abby Thostenson was the first-prize winner last year, with Ken Buysse placing second and Noah Engels third.
