Minneota Speech team awards announced

Unable to hold its annual banquet due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Minneota Speech team recently announced its awards for the 2020 season.
For the varsity team, Sean Dilley and Brenden Kimpe received the Co-Most Valuable awards. Both were seniors on this year's team that had the season cut short due to the pandemic.
Jacob Haen, a senior, was selected as the Most Dedicated; Zoe DeBoer, a senior, received the Spirit Award; seniors Natalie Boe and Tara Thooft were named the Hardest Workers; Katie Walerius, a senior, was the Most Improved and sixth-grader Melanie Engels was selected the Rookie of the Year.
The Minneota Speech team, led by a strong group of seniors, had high hopes for reaching the state tournament, as well as qualifying several individuals.
Named All-State this season from Minneota were: Bot, DeBoer, Dilley, Haen, Kimpe and Thooft.
Letterwinners included: Thomas Belaen, Reagan Bierschenk, Tristan Bierschenk, Ella Bot, Natalie Bot, Joey Clark, Zoe DeBoer, Sean Dilley, Alyssa Engels, Ben Engels, Cora Fischer, Jacob Haen, Brenden Kimpe, Emma Lipinski, Wyatt Pohlen, Tara Thooft, Katie Walerius and Morgen Wersal.
Members of the junior high speech team also received awards recently. They were:

Most Dedicated - Cora Fischer
Spirit Award - Joey Clark
Hardest Worker - Cora Fischer
Most Improved - Wyatt Pohlen
