Minneota second in sub-section speech

Minneota's Brenden Kimpe studied for his extemperaneous speaking speech at the sub-section tournament on Saturday.

He won and got first place. He and others will compete Saturday at the section meet in Marshall on Saturday.

Murray County Central won the meet and Minneota was second.

On Saturday, the team competed in the Subsection 11 tournament in Minneota. We took 19 entries into the tournament. After 2 prelim rounds, finals were posted. 17 entries qualified for finals!
     In subsections, the top four move on to compete at the Section 3A tournament in Marshall on April 8..
     Earning awards were: Cecilia Rabaey was 3rd in Creative Expression. Trevor Belean was 2nd in Discussion. Peter Engels was 2nd in Drama. Teagan Welsh and Morgen Wersal were 6th in Duo. Jacob Haen & Paige Welsh were 4th in Duo. Natalie Bot & Tara Thooft were 3rd in Duo. Nick & Cole Bot were 1st in Duo. Alyssa Engels was 5th in Extemp Reading. Cora Engels was 2nd in Extemp Reading. Brenden Kimpe was 1st in Extemp Speaking. Emma Engels was 5th in Great Speeches.
Sarah Engles was 3rd in Great Speeches. Zoe DeBoer was 1st in Humorous. Rachel Engelswas 3rd in Informative.
Sean Dilley was 2nd in Informative. Brooke Moorse was 6th in Storytelling. Ben Engels was 3rd in Storytelling.
     The team placed 2nd with 67 points!
