Minneota area loses two friends

After tough battles with cancer, two arearesidents passed away on Tuesday. They were 67-year-old Shirley Sussner of Ghent and 57-year-old Paula Rhymer of Taunton. Sussner, who along with husband Ron owned and operated Frank’s Electric, Plumbing and Heating of Minneota.

She was well known as the voice of the company. She recently retired from her position. Recently, she was air-lifted to Sioux Falls, where she passed away on Tuesday.

Rhymer has been battling cancer for several years and after an initial recovery, she relapsed with Leukemia. She and husband Rusty Rhymer of Rusty’s Corner Cafe in Taunton fought the disease in every way possible.

They took several trips Paula desired to make and these times together made their fight against cancer a little more bearable. The funerals have been set for both Sussner and Rhymer both on Saturday.
