Master plan approved by the teachers, school board

With little hub bub, and practically in record time, the Minneota School Board and the teachers association have agreed on a Master Agreement for the next two years.

The new agreement includes raises for the teachers and staff plus several changes in the language of the basic contract.

According to the agreement, “Any teacher who was under contract in the Minneota School District in 2016-2017 and is still employed in 2017 and 2018 will receive their current salary plus $1,700. Part-time teachers will be pro-rated accordingly.”

The raise will be divided in two-year segments. All teachers in their first year will receive half the negotiated increase set at $850.

Extra curricular activities salaries will increase as well for the coming year, depending on the number of years of service to the Minneota School District.

Hourly pay will be $21.50 (minimum of 1 hour). It is up to the teacher to turn his/her stipend reimbursement sheet into the District office.

No stipends will be paid if time is turned in over 30 days after the date of the staff development activity.
