Local couple injured in crash

A Minneota couple were injured in a two-vehicle crash reported last Friday afternoon at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 68 and Lyon County Road 33, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash was reported around 2 p.m. Friday.

The State Patrol said a 1997 Ford pickup was westbound on County Road 33, when it attempted to cross Highway 68 and collided with a 2005 Chevy Equinox driven by Etien Laleman, 81, of Minneota.

Both Etien Laleman and his wife Marian Laleman, 78, were transported to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

Both Lalemans have returned to their home and are recovering from injuries. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department and Marshall Fire Department also responded at the scene of the crash.
