Distinguished Young Woman of Ivanhoe

•One to be named Friday, August 9 during the local scholarship competition

High school junior girls from Ivanhoe will join together for the Distinguished Young Women of Ivanhoe program to be held Friday, August 9 at the Ivanhoe Elementary School gym.

Participants will compete for college scholarships and the opportunity to represent Ivanhoe as the Distinguished Young Woman of Ivanhoe for the Class of 2021. The Class of 2021 participants are Jada Sterzinger, Abigail Rost, and Anna Krier, and all attend Minneota High School.

The program is open to the public. Doors open at 6:15 and the program will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the door. Ages 5 and under can attend at no charge. The three young women competing will be evaluated by a panel of five judges in the following categories: Scholastics (25 percent), Interview (25 percent), Talent (20 percent), Fitness (15 percent), and Self-Expression (15 percent).

The participant selected as the Distinguished Young Woman of Ivanhoe will advance to the state level next year, where she will join with other representatives from across Minnesota.

They will be competing for cash scholarships and the opportunity to represent the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of Minnesota and a change to represent Minnesota at the National Finals in Mobile, Alabama in June 2021.
