Minneota issues water usage restrictions.

CITY PLACES WATERING RESTRICTION

Because of the recent high temperatures and little precipitation, the City of Minneota has declared an emergency water use restriction to all citizens.
The restriction took place on July 11 and will continue until further notice.
Lack of adequate water pressure may lead to fire protection problems, so the City of Minneota implemented the order to assure the safety and well-being of the residents of Minneota.
Residents with odd-numbered addresses can water lawns and/or gardens or wash vehicles, when necessary, on odd-numbered calendar days only. Those residents with even-numbered addresses can water lawns/gardens or wash vehicles on even-numbered days only.
Lawns, however, should not be watered between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. An exception may be granted to recently-established lawns. Those lawns may be watered daily for up to one month after installation, but not between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The penalty for violating the watering restriction in a warning for the first violation, a $25 fine per day for the second violation, and $50 for a third violation.
