Bloodmobile donors excel, again

The Minneota blood drive took place on Wednesday, June 26 at the American Legion with 35 presenting, four deferrals, and one incomplete for a total of 38 units. “We had eight donors who did Power Reds! We slightly missed our goal of 43. Thank you to all who donated blood,” said Barb Okrina, Minneota Community Blood Drive Coordinator.

She added, “We would like to thank the Rotary for sponsoring the blood drive by paying for the meals for the Red Cross workers and volunteers and for calling the blood donors.”

Thank you to the American Legion for donating the site and to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Hemnes Lutheran Church for providing the cookies, crackers and cheese for the donors.

A special thank you to Maryann Sarazyn for distributing the posters and to Donna Buysse, Sandy Tolk, Judy Traen, Terry Van Keulen, Lois VanDePutte, Brenda Verschelde and Kathy Wyffels for volunteering as greeters and in the canteen area.

“By everyone working together, we had a successful blood drive,” said Okrina.
