The “Chocolate Affair” is not a new idea, but it’s become a lasting tradition that not only helps fund the new public library, but has become Minneota’s yearly, “Social Event,” of the season.

An Affair to Remember

There it is — the most delicious, large strawberry you’ve ever seen. All you have to do is pick it up, dip it into that large vat of chocolate that’s flowing like a fountain and —WALLA — you’re in Seventh Heaven.

Oh, but that’s not all. That chocolate covered strawberry has many friends and relatives — all with a luscious taste and tempting to the eye.

And where can you taste all that goodness, enjoy the sounds of a great band and contribute to the “Jewel of the County,” the Minneota Public Library, all at the same time?

The “Chocolate Affair” is not a new idea, but it’s become a lasting tradition that not only helps fund the new public library, but has become Minneota’s yearly, “Social Event,” of the season.

Pegged as, “A night of decadence and music ... indulge your soul,” the event is set to start with a 6 p.m. social hour on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Minneota American Legion.

The “sounds” that always envelope the event will come again from the local, Route 68 Big Band, directed by Minneota High School’s own — John Voit.

Events, in addition to the succulent taste of chocolate, will be a dinner and silent auction.

Community merchants and friends will fill the tables with items to bid on for the Silent Auction.

The Minneota Friends of the Library’s annual event tickets are available at the Minneota Library; Brad’s Market; Gislason Hardware; Music Street and Hy-Vee. Ticket sales end Feb. 6.
