Accident on 68

A car and tractor accident Tuesday night on Highway 68 just a mile and a half east of Minneota resulted in the tractor tipping over and the front of the car badly damaged, (above). According to the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, the 2008 Chevy Impala was east bound on Highway 68 and so was the 1984 John Deere 4440 Tractor. The report indicated the car rear-ended the tractor and both went into the ditch and the tractor rolled on its side. The only injury was to the cars’ 60-year-old passenger, Debra Lynne Strongman of Minneota, who was taken to Avera in Marshall with non-life threatening injuries. The car’s driver, Tamara Ruppert , 46 of Minneota was not injured. Neither was the tractor’s driver, Leo Buysse, 22, of Ghent. The accident was attended by the Minneota Fire Department, Minneota First Responders, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Minneota State Highway Patrol.
