23-year-old man stabbed in Cottonwood

At approximately 9:21 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, Lyon County Sheriff’s Department deputies and EMS personnel responded to a reported assault involving a stabbing at a residence in Cottonwood.
Located at the scene was a 23-year-old male victim who had injuries consistent with a stab-type wound. The male was transported from the scene and later flown to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale for treatment of his injuries.
A 35-year-old male, also located at the residence, was identified as the suspect in the assault and was taken into custody without incident.
An investigation is ongoing and formal charges are pending.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by EMS personnel from the Cottonwood Ambulance, the Cottonwood Fire Department, and North AirCare.
