Swedzinski gets full support in bid for re-election in 16A

State Rep. Chris Swedzinski (R-Ghent) received unanimous endorsement last week from District 16 Republicans in his bid for re-election in House District 16A.
"I thank the people of District 16A for their support and look forward to returning to the Capitol and continuing to work on behalf of my constituents," Swedzinski said. "My focus will remain on helping re-open our state for business and helping people get back to work so we can grow our rural economy. It is an honor to represent hardworking people in southwestern Minnesota and I am grateful for their continued support."
Swedzinski is a farmer and small-business owner by trade. His district includes Lac Qui Parle, Lyon, Redwood and Yellow Medicine counties in southwestern Minnesota.
Swedzinski feels Gov. Walz's orders are inconsistent: Swedzinski issued the following statement regarding the re-opening guidance released Wednesday by the Gov. Tim Walz administration.
"The governor is leaving churches behind as other places start to see even slight flexibility in re-opening," Swedzinski said. "His restriction limiting churches to 10 people inside at once is problematic. That’s really concerning to me and it underscores the inconsistencies in the governor’s orders.
"The stipulations on capacities businesses are allowed to serve and where they may serve them are all over the board. In general, the path the governor laid out today does not do nearly enough to safely re-open our businesses that have been subject to the governor's shutdown for months on end."
