Summer Reading Program set to begin June 1

Hey, kids, are you ready for the Summer Reading Program? Our theme this year is "Tails and Tales" and the program runs from June 1 to July 31 with a special focus on books about animals.
We continue to practice safety measures in relation to COVID, but restrictions are easing up and we can make it work. When we have Story Hour, we'll ask those attending to imagine sitting within a Hula Hoop, making sure your Hula Hoop isn't crossing over someone's else's Hula Hoop.
We will kick off the event by having a Stuffed Animal Weekend Sleepover. From June 5-8, we will employ your animal friend in the library to help us out ... and give them time to play. Anyone who wished to bring a stuffed animal to the library and leave it for the weekend may do so by noon on Saturday, June 5. Watch for more details in the Mascot and at the library.
Some of the new books that arrived this week at the library:
Adult Fiction - The Midnight Library, by Matt Haig; A Crime of a Different Stripe, by Sally Goldenbaum; Destined for You, by Tracy Peterson; The Eighth Detective, by Alex Pavesi; The Russian, by James Patterson; The Holdout, by Graham Moore; Raft of Stars, by Andrew Graff; Stargazer, by Anne Hillerman.
