"We will be passing out the food in front of the main entrance to the school. There is no need to sign up. You just have to drive up and pick up the food."

STUDENTS TO PASS OUT FREE TURKEYS, OTHER FOOD ITEMS

With Bethel Fellowship Church having cancelled its annual Thanksgiving meal doe to the recent surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, there is some solace in the fact that 100 grocery bags of food for cooking your own meal at home will be made available at the Minneota Public School.
The free food giveaway for anyone who is interested will be held from 4-7 p.m., or until all the bags have been passed out, on Nov. Tuesday, Nov. 24. The unprepared food is made possible through the Hope Lutheran Church Endowment Fund and some other donors. The food will consist of a 10-12 pound turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, cranberries, dinner rolls, a pumpkin pie and even a roasting pan for cooking the turkey.
The food is being ordered through Brad's Market of Minneota.
"Some of the National Honor Society kids will be passing out the bags of food," said Elementary Principal Jen Mahan-Deitte. "We will be passing out the food in front of the main entrance to the school. There is no need to sign up. You just have to drive up and pick up the food."
