Speed reduction in Marshall Highway 23 construction work zone

The Reduced Conflict Intersection project on Highway 23 in Marshall began on August 13, 2018.

After monitoring the work zone this past week and taking into account increased traffic due to the start of the school year, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has made the decision to take precautionary measures and reduce the work zone speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph.

The reduced speed limit will take effect as soon as crews are available to change signage. Extra enforcement by state patrol will be in place.

For more information on the project and to sign up for updates visit the webpage at www.mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy23marshall.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution for their safety and the safety of workers, and reminds them to never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
