Special events set at county museum

Since its launch in 2012, May is Minnesota Museums Month, a 31-day celebration of the more than 500 historic sites, art museums, zoos, gardens and science centers across the state. Minnesota Museums Month is an annual program organized by the Minnesota Association of Museums (MAM) and held each May.

Minnesota is one of only a few states in the country that dedicates an entire month to celebrating the rich cultural resources of its museums.

The program is a collaboration among museums of all types to raise awareness of the importance of museums across the state in contributing to and sustaining community. The Lyon County Museum in Marshall is hosting several events in May in commemoration of Minnesota Museums Month.

All events and programs are free and open to the public.
