Rep. Chris Swedzinski lauds decision to reinstate fall sports

State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, issued the following statement in response to Monday’s votes by the Minnesota State High School League providing approval for sports such as volleyball and football that had been postponed amid COVID-19 concerns to begin practicing next week and start competing in early October:
"I just want to thank the Minnesota State High School League for actually moving forward and bringing a little bit of common sense to this conversation and approving volleyball and football for this fall," Swedzinski said.
"I think we’re currently an outlier where all the states around us are currently competing and moving forward with their seasons. I’m glad they finally moved forward to allow our kids to compete and hopefully fill out, especially for seniors, a well-rounded school career."
