Madison Ave. Apts receive $3,000 grant for MN Disaster recovery for coronavirus

Madison Avenue Apartments in Minneota was selected by Minnesota River Area Agency, Inc. to be the recipients of a $3,000 grant from the Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund for coronavirus.
The funding is made possible because of a partnership between the Minnesota Council on Foundations and St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation.
“We acknowledge the challenges organizations face in serving older adults, caregivers and persons with disabilities during the coronavirus pandemic,” said Jason W. Swanson, Executive Director of Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging.
“To support coronavirus related services, we have established this recovery fund for the purpose of supporting services for nutrition, social engagement, cultural responsiveness and caregiver supports.”
Madison Avenue Apartments would like to combat social isolation by providing social interaction through the used of tablets and computer devices for family visits so residents can visit with family and community members.
The award will pay for a smart TV, wall mount, sound bar, BNLuetooth headset, and DVD player.
