Local kids experience ‘Business Day’ in Marshall

The Yellow Medicine Integration Collaborative (YMIC), hosted its fifth annual local Business Day in Marshall on October 9.

Two hundred-eighty nine juniors participated, comprised of six area school districts including Canby Public High School, Dawson-Boyd High School, Lakeview Secondary School, Minneota High School, Renville County West, and Yellow Medicine East in partnership with the SW MN Private Industry Council (PIC) (www.swmnpic.org)

There are incredible employment and training opportunities in Rural Minnesota, unfortunately many students and their families are not aware of them. It’s critical to engage and retain our future workforce and develop the skills and leadership which will allow our economy to move forward.

Prior to the business tour, these students visited the College Fair hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University at the Red Baron Arena and Event Center.
