Highway 91 project includes working Sundays to beat cold weather

In an effort to stay ahead of the colder weather and catch up from rain days, the resurfacing subcontractor will be working on several upcoming Sundays on the Highway 91 project north of Adrian. Two detours are currently in effect in Nobles and Murray Counties.

The stage one detour between Adrian and Lismore (Nobles County Roads 35, 15 and 16) is expected to be removed around October 4. The second (stage 2) detour consists of Nobles County Road 15, Murray County Road 29 and Highway 30 and is expected to be in place until mid-October.

The construction project includes bridge replacements and rural box culvert construction that requires detouring Highway 91. Resurfacing will be completed as well as sidewalk and driveway improvements in Adrian and Lake Wilson and additional lighting at rural intersections.

The expected project completion date is June, 2020. This 45 mile-long construction job completes Highway 91 projects planned in both MnDOT District 7 – Mankato (Nobles County) and MnDOT District 8 – Willmar (Murray and Lyon County).

More information on the Highway 91 projects and the detour maps can be found at www.mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy91/ and www.mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy91 .

The website for the Nobles County project also includes a place to sign up for e-mail updates. Central Specialties, Incorporated of Alexandria was awarded the contract with a bid of $18,451,694. For updated road condition information, call 511 or visit www.511mn.org.
