Heemeyer to lead United Way State Association

Marcy Heemeyer, President and CEO, of the United Way of Southwest Minnesota, was elected 2018-19 state association Chair for the Minnesota state board of United Ways last week in Minneapolis.

Elections were held during the association’s winter conference at the Greater Twin Cities United Way.

The United Ways Minnesota provides a variety of services, including consultation, public policy monitoring, state campaign relations, campaign support, opportunities for networking, staff and board training and statewide conferences and trainings.

Individual United Way organizations from throughout Minnesota come together as a statewide association to advance the common good by focusing on the greatest needs in their respective local communities.

Heemeyer has led the United Way of Southwest Minnesota since February 2013. She has been on the Minnesota state board of directors since January 2014.

She also serves on the National Professional Council of United Ways of America and previously served on the 2017 International conference planning committee for the Community Leaders Conference (CLC).
