Gun safety trio honored

On Saturday, Conservation Officer Matt Loftness recognized three local men who have volunteered to train area youths in gun safety for many years. Left to right: Francis DeSmet, Loftness, Jeff Hennen and Galen Boerboom were each honored at the Sportsmen's Club. Hennen was given a framed print for his 30 years of volunteer service, while DeSmet and Boerboom were given engraved glass plaques for 40 years of volunteer service. Together, these men have trained over 1,200 youths through the local Firearms Safety Program.
