A Festival of Woodwinds at SMSU Feb. 2

The SMSU Music Program will host “A Festival of Woodwinds” on Saturday, Feb. 2, featuring guest flutist Immanuel Davis. “A Festival of Woodwinds” is a day-long workshop for woodwind players regardless of age or ability level.

It is also open to directors and other musicians interested in woodwind performance.

Guest artist Immanuel Davis has been the flute professor at the University of Minnesota since 2013. He is a versatile performer who enjoys playing the entire span of the flute repertoire, and has released two CDs, and is working on a third.

Registration is from 8:30-9 a.m. Warm-ups run until 9:30 a.m., followed by Woodwind Choir rehearsal, guest clinician recital, lunch, masterclass, Woodwind Choir rehearsal and the Finale Concert, held in the Fine Arts Theatre.
