Drost youngest to seek office; running against Swedzinski

Doria Drost (D-Lynd), who turned 21 on May 22, is the youngest person seeking office so far in this year’s state election.
Drost is working towards her MBA while she runs her campaign for the Minnesota House of Representatives seat in District 16A against incumbent Chris Swedzinski.
She received endorsement from the Lyon County, Lac Qui Parle County and Yellow Medicine County Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party on Saturday.
Drost has lived in southwest Minnesota most of her life. She attended Worthington Senior High School and Minnesota West Community & Technical College, graduating from both in 2017. In 2019, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Political Science from Southwest Minnesota State University.
