Ameriprise Financial Volunteers Work to End Hunger at Marshall Senior Center

Ameriprise Financial advisors and employees recently came together to help families and individuals in Marshall. Organized by Van der Hagen, Skogrand & Associates, six people volunteered at Marshall Senior Center to deliver Meals on Wheels.

This effort was focused on helping the 41 million people, including 13 million children and more than five million seniors, who struggle with hunger in the U.S.

The event was the first of two national days of service Ameriprise arranges each year in partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization.

On June 14, more than 3,500 Ameriprise financial advisors, employees and clients spent the day participating in more than 220 volunteer events across the country. The employees and advisors of Ameriprise are dedicated to helping people prepare financially for the future.

They also recognize that basic needs like food and shelter come first on the path to financial security and are committed to helping individuals in need.

“LSS Meals relies heavily on local businesses and individuals to assist in our mission to provide a nutritious meal to adults 60 or older in the community. Whether it is volunteering in serving a meal, delivering Meals on Wheels to those homebound, or monetarily sponsoring a meal, we genuinely appreciate each business that helps us to serve the members of the community," said Lisa Gillund, Regional Manager of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota.
