‘Light Up the Night’ shows the ‘Spirit of Caring’

November is National Hospice Month, which ushers in the holiday season.

“As we begin to prepare for our Third Annual Light Up the Night Event, we are reminded once again of the generosity of our community as dozens of volunteers donate hundreds of hours of their time to support this event each year,” said Tara Plante, Marketing and Development Director for Prairie Home Hospice.

The Minneota event will be held at 5:15 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1 at Memorial Park with refreshments to follow at the Minneota Community Center.

“In establishing this event three years ago, Prairie Home Hospice sought to establish an event that would serve two purposes.

We wanted an event that had the potential to become a successful fundraiser, but also wanted an event that would provide an opportunity for us to give something back to the community that has supported us so strongly over the past 35 years.

“Light Up the Night” has done that and has demonstrated yet again the spirit of a very generous community. It is heartwarming to see the community come together to support this kind of event each year.

The community has embraced this annual event whole-heartedly. We are so grateful for the many volunteers who give of their time and talent to make this a great annual event — which just continues to get bigger and better each year.”
