Vikings down YME to end skid, 56-46

Dalager hits five treys, finishes with game-high 27 points in Minneota’s win

Ryan Dalager dropped in five 3-pointers en route to a season-high 27 points as Minneota defeated Yellow Medicine East 56-46 to end a six-game losing streak Friday night in Minneota.
Despite another height disadvantage, the Vikings (6-11) crashed the boards consistently and outrebounded the Sting (5-13) 42-23, including 26 offensive boards.
Peyton Sheik recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Vikings. Max Rost had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Sawyer DeSmet had a team-high 14 rebounds.
YME took a 20-19 lead at halftime and built a 39-34 lead into the second half before Minneota went on a 12-0 with Dalager scoring eight of the points on two treys and a layup. Rost and Sheik also scored on drives to the basket during the run. The Vikings never trailed after that.
Dalager had 21 of his points in the second half to lead the rally.
Bryce Sneller led YME with 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. The 6-6 senior hit eight straight free throws at one point before his last shot was his lone miss.
The Sting made 10 of 11 free throws as a team. Archie LaRose added 11 points and Drew Almich had 10 points. Owen Torvik, also a 6-6 senior, finished with seven points and eight rebounds.

In a thrilling game in which the lead changed hands 17 times, Minneota was unable to overcome Trevor Smith's 30 points as Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (6-11) edged the Vikings (5-11) in Tracy.
Both teams drained nine 3-pointers with Smith hitting five of them.
Peyton Sheik had a double-double for Minneota with 18 points and 19 rebounds. He hit three of the Vikings' nine treys. Max Rost finished with 17 points and six assists, while Ryan Dalager added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Anthony Rybinski chipped in seven points and six rebounds.
The lead changed hands seven times in the first half before TMB took a 30-29 lead at intermission. Things got even tighter in the second half with the tea, trading leads 10 more times.
The Panthers took their biggest lead of the game at 53-46 with five minutes left. But the Vikings then got a three-pointer from Peyton Sheik at 4:26 and a basket off a drive by Max Rost at 2:43 to make it 53-51.
Smith then snapped the cords from beyond the arc to give Tracy-Milroy-Balaton a 56-51 advantage before Sheik made another three-pointer to cut the Panthers' lead to two again at 56-54. TMB then had consecutive driving baskets by Brian Erbes and Alex Munson for a 60-54 lead with 52 second remaining.
Dalager then hit one of two free throws and then a triple with seven seconds left to make it 60-58.
Smith was then intentionally fouled and connected on both of his free throws for the final margin.
Munson finished with 15 points and Erbes had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Panthers.
