High School Softball

Minneota/Canby was given the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Section 3AA-South softball tournament that began on Tuesday, May 23.
Minneota/Canby (7-8) opened the double-elimination playoffs against No. 3 Jackson County Central at 3:30 p.m. in Luverne.
Note: The Mascot went to press before the conclusion of Tuesday's game. If the Vikings won their quarterfinal game, they would play again at 5 p.m. in the semifinals. If they lost, they would play in the elimination bracket at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 in Marshall.
Pipestone Area is the No. 1 seed in the 3AA South half of the tournament and received a first-round bye.
In other quarterfinal games on May 23, No. 4 Windom Area opened against Renville County West/BOLD in Pipestone, and No. 2 Luverne hosted No, 7 Redwood Valley.
Morris Area is the No. 1 seed in the 3AA North half of the tournament. West Central Area is No. 2, followed by Dassel-Cokato, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, Litchfield, New London-Spicer, Minnewaska Area and Montevideo.
