Boys Golf

Lakeview captured the Section 3A boys golf title by nine strokes last Wednesday at Great Life Golf & Fitness Club in Worthington.
Lakeview advances to the Class A state tournament June 13-14 at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Big Lake.
Carson Boe of Lakeview was the Section 3A medalist with a two-round total of 140, winning by 11 strokes over Nathan Kueny of Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove. Sawyer Drent of HLOF/WWG was third with a 153.
The top team and the next five individuals not on the winning team qualify for the state tournament.
Besides Boe, Lakeview team members are: Lane Arends, who shot a 165; Ethan Schwankl, 173; Jordan Fischer, 181; and Owen Louwagie, 193.
The other five individuals qualifying for state were Kueny, Drent, Brock Henning of Adrian-Ellsworth, 154; Chase Christensen of Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, 160; and Logan Brake of Adrian-Ellsworth, 166.
Max Rost was the lone Minneota golfer qualifying for the second round. He shot a 190 to finish in a tie for 23rd among the 34 golfers qualifying for Round 2.
