Summer Program has strong following

Our Summer Program, "Read Beyond the Beaten Path", has 67 entrants so far. That’s fantastic!
Our story hours have been well-attended, and our pirate show also drew a crowd. We continue with story hour every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., and a drawing for an ice cream treat is held after the story hour. All are welcome to join us.
Something new: we now have board games to check out. We’re starting a collection of games and toys that help with learning and brain function. These games can also be used in the library. We prefer that they be checked out by parents, or that those under age 18 have parental permission to take the game home. The game of Chess has been around since the 15th century and remains popular.
Do you want an easy way to teach your children to play chess? We have acquired the game called “Story Time Chess” that claims it is for ages “3 to 103.” It has an easy way for children to learn the moves of each chess piece. It has features that make it easy to switch from the story-time chess to a regular chess game.
We’ve also added the games: Blank Slate, Friends and Neighbors, Q-Bitz Jr., Taco vs. Burrito, and Eye Found It. These games, too, can be used in the library or borrowed for a week.
Happy reading
