Important dates

One of the things I missed the most during COVID was the sit-down fish fry at St. Ed's. Well, it is back on Friday, March 4. This is a great time to see each other and enjoy a community meal together. This is some of the best fried fish in the area.
Another date to keep in mind is Daylight Saving Time for 2022 which will occur on March 13 at 2 a.m.
I expect that there will be many community events in the area this year with COVID rules being lifted and people wanting to get out and do things.
The IRS deadline is April 15 and they are already telling people that there may be a delay and to file early. If you have not yet filed your taxes, you may want to get to it.
Regarding donations, many people will be wanting to donate to various groups including those suffering in Ukraine. Before you give, do your homework. Make sure the organization you are giving to is not a scam. Also, try to find out how much of what you are giving actually goes to the people in need. Many organizations take a percentage of the donation and use it for administrative costs and these costs can range from a small amount to more than half of the donation.
If you are in doubt, consider local groups that could use your donation to benefit people in need locally.
