St. Edward School seventh grade students participated in the Patriots Pen Essay Contest sponsored by the VFW.
The winners of the short essay, “What do I believe is the proper respect for the flag,” was won by three students, who each got a $250 scholarship from the Minneota-Taunton VFW.
