When two powerhouses collide, something's got to give.

Thursday night Minneota defeated Wabasso/Red Rock Central, 33-19 by winning eight straight matches before losing the final decision.

Down 10-0 after the 103-pound and 112-pound matches, Minneota used Christian Skillings major decision over Jordan Schroepfer, 16-2 to get them started, Beau Buysse got a nice 3-2 win Ryan Schroepfer in a classic matchup, Wabasso'RRC's Cody Schunk beat TJ Bueltel 7-1 and then the eight-match win streak began.

Although they came back to win, Minneota had no pins and each match was close.

Alex Lessman, Andrew Swedzinski, Sam Derynck, Adam Longtin, Adam Josephson, Blake Abrahm, Austin Bierschenk and Josh VanOverbeke all earned decisions. Derynck's was a major decision.

Wabasso got the final match when heavyweight Tim Savig pinned Victor Montelongo.
