Several volunteer to harvest crops at farm of late friend Ross Eischens

A group of 13 volunteers decided to help out the widow and stepson of the late Ross Eischens, spending several hours on Friday harvesting over 250 acres of beans.
Ten of the volunteers worked to harvest 250 acres on Eischens' family farmsite approximately 10 miles north of Minneota, while three others worked another one of Eischens' fields south of St. Leo.
In all, the volunteers used five combines, two grain carts and three semi-trucks to complete the harvesting in around three hours on a mild day.
Along with Parker Eischens, the 13 men volunteering to help were: Eric Wallen, Josh Sanow, Andy Schmitz, Mark Sanow, Shane Bordewyk, Jon Buysse, Tom Abraham, Rod Abraham, Landon Abraham, Ross Abraham, Adam Gorecki, Adam Karbo, Bob Pochardt.
Eischens, a popular farmer and longtime public address announcer for Minneota High School sports, the Minneota Mudhens amateur baseball team, and the Boxelder Bug Days coronation ceremony, died July 12, 2022 following a sudden illness followed by complications during medical treatment.
Eischens farmed for many years with his father, Curt, on the family farm. Ross was involved in the Minnesota Farmer's Union, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, and the Minnesota Corn Growers Association.
Eischens, a 1997 Minneota High School graduate, was passionate about helping others. This was one way his friends and neighbors could pay him back for all he did for the community.
