Prom set in 'Enchanted Forest' theme

Grand March 6 p.m. Saturday; dance, activities to follow at Heritage Event Center

One of the most memorable events in a student's life is attending the prom, whether they are with a date or flying solo.
It's a chance for some to dress up, while it's a chance for others to spread their wings and express themselves by donning something unusual or flamboyant.
Some of the prom-goers pick up their date in a brand new vehicle, while others have attended on something like a horse, a tractor or even a bicycle built for two.
The Minneota Junior-Senior Prom Grand March will be held on Saturday at the high school beginning at 6 p.m.
The theme this year in "Enchanted Forest" and the gym will be decorated by the junior class to reflect that theme.
This year's prom begins with photos in the Viking gymnasium at 1:45 p.m. to 3 p.m., which includes couples, individuals, the senior class and the junior class.
Prom-goers will then enjoy a meal at a location of their choice. Some couples dine in a restaurant, while others will eat in large groups at someone's home.
The students are then asked to be at the school at 5:30 p.m. to starting lining up for the Grand March.
The students will then load a bus and travel to Heritage Event Center south of Taunton for the many post-prom activities that will be available.
A dance will be held from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. with a DJ providing music, along with a bonfire, hayrides, games and snacks.
Walking tacos will be available from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., followed by casino-type games until 2 a.m.
A hypnotist from the Twin Cities area will then entertain the prom-goers from 2-3 a.m., followed by prize drawings until 3:30 a.m.
Students will then load the bus at 3:30 a.m. to return to the high school.
Prom is something that will be something you remember for the rest of your life. Embrace it.
