Noyes, Yeo follow father’s footsteps

When Kyle Noyes and his fiancee Abbie Yeo transition into owners of the Minneota Car Wash, they will each become second-generation local business owners.
Noyes' father, John, has owned and operated Countryside Auto in Minneota for over 20 years. Abbie's father, Monte, has owned Alley Repair in town for over 30 years.
John Noyes is currently the owner of Minneota Car Wash, while Kyle and Abbie has been managing the business since it opened in mid-August. They will officially become owners of the business located along First Street on the east side of town next month.
"It stays pretty busy," said Abbie about the car wash that features two stalls; one for automatic touchless washed and the other for self-manual washing.
The touchless wash is similar to the traditional drive-thru car wash. The difference is that instead of giant rotating brushes and undulating fabric strips slapping against your vehicle, the touchless system utilizes high-pressure water jets and more powerful chemicals in the cleaning process.
Nearly 3,000 vehicles have used the car wash since it opened, according to an affixed counter. That's an average of 600 per month, or 20 per day.
"It takes up more of our time than we anticipated," noted Kyle, who farms in the area. "We both stay pretty busy with everything going on."
Kyle and Abbie also have two children together; Theodore, 7; and Kellen, 4.
Many new businesses have been popping up in Minneota in the past year, and the car wash adds to that list.
Those interested in using the car wash can pay with a VIP card, a credit or debit card, cash or single-wash vouchers.
Those obtaining a VIP Wash Club membership card are automatically entered for weekly, monthly and yearly prize drawings.
"The weekly prize will be $5 added to their VIP card," said Kyle.
"And the monthly prize will be something like a gift card from a local business," Abbie added.
There are three varieties of washes that can be purchased at $9, $10 or $11, with each higher value offering more.
A VIP card can be pre-loaded with whatever amount the owner of the card desires. A current promotion allows those holding a VIP card to receive an additional 10 percent on your current card balance when you load or reload it.
