A man with friends

You didn’t have to wonder if Bruce Hoffmann has a lot of friends and many others who care.

Judging by the crowded upstairs of the American Legion to the long lines outside waiting to get in, there was a lot of caring going around.

Hoffmann has cancer and has been fighting the disease.

The nearly 1,000 people showed up to show their support for the Hoffmann family. Bruce’s wife Lee Anne said it was a tremendous show of support as Bruce continues his fight against the disease.

Even a silent auction was held as visitors like Jean Gislason looked over the items before bidding.

On Monday, Bruce said he was so grateful for all the support shown to him on this extremely wonderful Saturday.

Three local fraternal life insurance companies came forward with matching grants for Bruce: Dan Markell, Catholic United Financial; Lynn Okrina, Thrivent and Cindy Robinson, Modern Woodmen.
