'Gym-dandy' of a bill

The Minneota Public School invited Rep. Chris Swedzinski (R-Ghent) and Sen. Gary Dahms (R-Redwood Falls) to the school on Monday to thank them and to view the auxiliary gym upgrade that was made possible by their tax-exempt bill. Dahms authored the bill in the Senate and Swedzinski, a Minneota graduate, authored it in the House. The bill, the only one of its kind in the state, allowed the Minneota School District to save over $100,000 in tax money from supplies purchased during its renovation project two years ago. The Minneota School District was able to use the savings from the tax-exemption to upgrade the auxiliary gym this year.
