All dressed up — with somewhere to go

Darlene Josephson borrowed a necklace from Brittany Moorse. She laid it around her neck and over the white dress she was wearing. After all, this was Prom Night.

And just like they did many years ago, adults like Josephson took advantage of the special Adult Prom Night that was used to raise money to fix the swimming pool.

“It was a lot of fun to dress up,” said Josephson. She loved the way the necklace looked around her neck — and although she felt it was a little heavy, it was worth the special look.

Like they did when they were kids, folks posed in front of a decorated curtain for their special photo of prom night.

Photographer Brian Jeremiason did the honors. But when it was suggested he get into a photo he said, “My place is behind the camera.”

The special dance was preceded by a supper at the Bethel Community Bible Church.

“The decorations came from Amber Rodas at the school,” said Joanne Myrvik of Bethel Church. “The kids are volunteering to help out tonight,” she added.

The special event all came about when Rodas and others were brainstorming on how to raise funds to renovate the community swimming pool.

“This sounded like a really fun event,” she added. Folks like Jim and Corky DeCock took it all in — but when that golden hour rolled around, the couple headed home to go to bed.

Yet, “It was lots of fun,” they added. Meanwhile, Josephson popped into the dance, but with her partner ailing, she didn’t stay long.

Yet, she had the fun of dressing up and being part of it all. And the event itself — well, it was deemed a success.
