40 units collected at blood drive here

There were 40 units collected at the Red Cross Blood Drive on Jan. 25 in Minneota. The blood drive was scheduled to be held in the Minneota Public School gym, although school was let out early that day and the event was held at the Legion.
The National Honor Society hosted the event. There were 40 presenting, five deferrals and six Power Reds for a total of 40 units collected, according to Barb Okrina, Minneota Community Blood Drive Coordinator.
There were four first-time donors: Samuel Skorczewski, Faith Myhre, Tina Myhre and Jason Myhre.
"We would like to thank the Minneota Legion for letting us use their site at the last minute," Okrina said. "Thank you to the State Bank of Taunton for sponsoring the meals for the Red Cross staff. And a special thank you to all who braved the weather and were willing to come and donate. Your donations were greatly appreciated."
