Ole Pappy

A WOW moment!!!

Took a trip last week to Branson, MO. My friend Greg Peer of Grantsburg, the best outdoorsman I’ve ever known, insisted we stop in Springfield, MO at the Bass Pro Shops Museum and Aquarium.

So we thought we’d humor him by helping him live out a long-time fantasy, Friend Greg has helped promote and develop deer stands for handicapped people. And he was one of the pushers and movers of an event honoring, “The Jordan Buck” of Danbury, WI. Greg told me the famous Jordan Buck antlers were in the museum in Springfield.

But he couldn’t have prepared me for what we’d seen inside that fabulous place. Not only was every kind of animal represented in this fabulous “tribute to the outdoors,” but there is one room with the best, largest and most incredible antlers in the entire world. It was my privilege to take a photo of Greg with the Jordan Buck.

But I was in total AWE of all the other antlers on display. This was truly HEAVEN for hunters and outdoorsmen. There were large antlers, strange antlers, and some just plain unbelievable. This is a must see for any outdoorsman.

I was in total unbelief. The entire museum was beyond belief. Thanks Greg for opening my eyes to something special.

LAUGH A LITTLE: How many what? Question: How many gorillas can fit in a car? Answer: Eight. Question: How many chickens can fit into the car? Answer: None (the car is already full of gorillas).

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: As my Ole Pappy used to say, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Ole Pappy wasn’t really a philosopher. He was simply a “Master of the Obvious.” Thanks Ole Pappy!
